Mr. Abdoulaye Barry is the Director, Financial Integration Department, West African Monetary Institute, Accra, Ghana. He oversees the various activities for the financial integration of Member States of the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ), in preparation for the ECOWAS single currency. These include the management of the activities of the College of Supervisors of the West African Monetary Zone (CSWAMZ), the Zonal Payment System Infrastructure development and Integration, and the West African Capital Market Integration Committee (WACMIC), as well as the preparation of the WAMZ Financial Stability Report (FSR) and empirical research on Financial Sector Development and Integration in the areas of Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, Payment System and Trade.
Prior to joining WAMI, he served as Assistant Director in the Foreign Exchange Department of Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG).
He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance (2009) from the University of Ghana, Legon and a DES (Diplome d’Etudes Superieures) in Accounting and Management (1986) from the University Of Conakry Republic Of Guinea.
